Use: Used for the determination of penetration of asphaltic bitumen and fluxed asphalt and blown type bitumen, Petroleum wax & jelly.

• Conforms to all ASTM, IP, ISO 9001 and related specifications Unit tests the consistency of lubricating greases, petroleum waxes, bitumens, pastes, creams and other solid to semisolid products, including a variety of food products. Microprocessor control provides a full range of measurement and reporting options The penetrometer defaults to the standard ASTM interval of 5 seconds, or the operator may program a different interval in the range between 0.1 and 999.9 seconds. All selected parameters are retained in memory and automatically repeated in subsequent tests until changed by the operator. Penetration measurements in the full range of 0-400 in 1/10 mm scale are reported in either 1/10 mm or 1/100 mm increments at the operator’s option. If a test result falls outside of the programmed range, an audible signal and visual error message alert the user of a failed sample. Results can be communicated to a printer or computer via a built in interface. Illumination with magnifying glass is also provided. Fine adjustment of the tip of the needle is also provided. Manual Penetrometer: As per IS: 1448[P 93]:1979 / IS: 1203:1978 / ASTM D 1321-76 / ASTM D 217.
The Universal Penetrometer is employed for testing a wide variety of materials as measured by penetration of weighted needles or cones. Main applications are for bituminous materials, but waxes, greases, foods, and pharmaceuticals are among other products tested. Penetration is read from a 5" (127mm) diameter indicator dial of 0-400 divisions, each representing 0.1mm of penetration. Global offers heavy-duty units for manual and automatic use and a lighter, portable model for field work or for users with limited work load or limited budget. All meet ASTM and IS standards when fitted with proper needle or cone.
The unit is ruggedly constructed for accurate, sensitive measurements. The aluminum base has a machined, grooved table with leveling screws for fine adjustments of tips of needles, cones and a spirit level. A robust stainless steel rod act as a support guides for a cast aluminum head with coarse adjustments & a movable table with rotating knob for fine adjustments to level the meniscus of specimen and a calibrated friction-free plunger mechanism. Indicator dial has instant zero reset. Any needle or cone with standard 1/8" (3mm) diameter stem may be mounted to the 47.5g plunger assembly. A standard 2.5g needle and two additional loading weights (50g, 100g) are included. Needles or cones for other tests can be provided separately as needed. Overall dimensions are 10.5x13x22" (267x330x559), (W x D x H) approx.
The Automatic model is the same as the manual unit, but has a button release mechanism with digital timer & DIGITAL read out for penetration to automatically stop the plunger when the preset time from 0.1 to 9.9 sec. expires with audible buzzer sound.
The penetration needle for bituminous materials is smooth, hardened, tempered stainless steel with brass ferrule and weighs 2.5g to give 50g total when mounted. Stainless steel wax penetration needle is also 2.5g but has truncated coneshaped tip with approx. 4mm maximum diameter tapered to 0.15mm diameter end. several types of 102.5g grease cones as having polished 90° cone with 30° removable hardened steel tip are available.

Cloud and Pour Point Apparatus: As per IS: 1448 and ASTM D97/66-IP 15/67 and ASTM D 2500/66-IP 219/67.
The unit is designed to meet the test method as per above standards.
• It is used to carry tests of any petroleum oils as per above test methods.
• The bath is triple walled in construction with inner chamber made up of stainless steel and exterior of GI sheet with epoxy powder coated finish with PUF insulation in between.
• The unit has four compartments four different temperature ranges as follows:
• 1st Compartment: -1°C to +2°C.

Highly stable viscosity bath temperatures. Digital measurement and display.
• The Viscosity Bath is designed to simplify ASTM D 445; IS-1206 kinematic viscosity testing. A top-mounted controller keypad permits quick entry of bath set point temperature while a sophisticated microprocessor PID Auto tuned controller controls the bath heating and stirring through flange top mounted motorized pump cum stirrer. To further enhance the input, the unit accommodates up to a maximum of six individual capillaries. The HVB features a measuring range of 5ºC to 200ºC and can be used with mineral oil, silicone oil, or water as the bath base media. Bath temperature is displayed on a bright, easy-to-read digital display. In addition, the unit features a built-in over-temperature circuit protection.

Description: Unit consists of battery, rheostat, milliammeter, 2 - SS electrode plates, glass container, illumination for the chamber, timer device (all provided in required / specified dimensions and parameters). Mains / battery operated. The instrument is well illuminated with fluorescent lamp for better view of sample &deposition on SS plate. It operates on 12vsupply either on mains or battery through ON/OFF switch. Digital power supply gives current greater than 4mA. Frass Breaking Point Apparatus for CRMB Test

Fraass Breaking point Apparatus : As per IS:9381-1979
Use: This apparatus is used for the determination of fraass breaking point of solid and semisolid bitumen.

Description: The Unit consists of mould press, bending apparatus (made of brass as per required / specified dimensions), plaque (as per required / specified dimensions), cooling apparatus only (made of glass without cooling compressor), digital temp indicator with PT100 sensor, and plate and stand. Fraass breaking point is the temperature at which bitumen first becomes brittle as indicated by the appearance of cracks when a thin film of the bitumen on a metal plaque is cooled & flexed in accordance with the specified conditions. The apparatus consists of bending apparatus, plaque specimen made up of spring steel 41 mm long x20mm width & 0.15 mm thick, cooling apparatus (as per detail) made up of glass jars as per given specification(no external cooling device) ,digital temp. Indicator and mould press for uniform thickness of bitumen specimen on plaque .The whole instrument is fixed on a CRCA powder coated plate.

Ductility Apparatus

Use: Used for the determination of ductility of distillation residue of cut back bitumen, blown type bitumen and other bituminous products.
Description: Unit consists of inner SS304 argon welded water bath & outer CRCA duly epoxy power coated finish with heating arrangement controlled by digital temp. Controller with PT100 sensor to maintain desired temp .The pump is used as agitator arrangement for uniformity of water temperature. The cold water can be poured / drained by drain valve with additional intake. The IS specified CRMB test is carried by this m/c .The special feature of this m/c are:

Use:
Used for the determination of softening point of asphaltic bitumen and fluxed native asphalt, road tar, coal tar pitch and blown type bitumen. Description: Unit consists of steel balls and brass rings as per IS specified dimensions, ball guide for ball centering, support for the ring(2No) , all mounted in a beaker which is provided with magnetic stirrer and a Immersion heater to heat the liquid inside.

Description: Unit consists of oil tube (as per specified / required dimensions and made of corrosion resistant metal), water bath and manual stirring apparatus, digital Auto tuned PID temp. controller cum indicator, with PT100 sensor for accurate measurement of temperature(Resoklution of 0.01*C, timing device (digital timer circuit) and graduated glass receiver. Scope

The flash point is the lowest liquid temperature at which application of the flame causes the vapors of the test specimen of the sample to ignite. To determine the fire-point, the test is continued until the application of the test flame causes the test specimen to ignite and sustain burning for a minimum of 5s. This flash point and fire-point test method is a dynamic method and depends on definite rates of temperature increases to control the precision of the method.
Its primary use is for viscous materials having a flash point below79°C (175°F) except fuel oils, to define the hazards of flammable and combustible materials used in shipping and safety regulations. The temperature of the approximately 70 ml test specimen is increased rapidly at first and then at a slower constant rate as the flash point is approached. At specified intervals a test flame is passed across the cup, to measure the tendency of the test specimen to form a flammable mixture with air under controlled laboratory conditions.
It is an automatic flash and fire-point tester used to examine liquid as well as highly viscous samples in the same instrument without any additional equipment for temperature range up to 400*C.

For substances with unknown flash points, the APPARATUS has a special search mode program. During the entire heating period, the test flame is moved across the sample at suitable intervals. The expected flash point of a specimen can thereby be found in a time saving and economical manner.
Optional On demand: When examining highly viscous specimens, a preheating time and temperature are set, in order to warm-up and liquefy the sample & to insert temperature sensor probe without problem. Further a skimmer is provided for removing the surface skin from bituminous samples.

Double wall Hot Air Ovens:
Construction: The unit is Laboratory type, with a double walled construction. The Inner Chamber is made of Stainless Steel (SS-304) 22G. The outer chamber is made of GI/CRCA, with powder coated finish in two tone color (Stainless Steel Buffed finished outer chamber can also be provided on request). Glass wool insulation of 65mm is present in between the walls to avoid heat dissipation. The Control panel is located at the top of oven .The heater compartment is at the bottom & is made up of Long lasting SS304Tubular Heater with HOT+COLD Zone junction & the Lead wire is taken out of Oven coupled with cover for safety. A Flush door fitting coupled with virgin silicon square rubber gasket of 15mm & special lock and handle arrangement for locking the door is provided for perfect sealing of chamber. The Tray is made of GI mesh, Crimped and of size ¾ ”x12G wire thickness with stainless steel Border. The spacing between the shelves is 4”.16 A ,3 pin molded power cord for 230V,50Hz supply is provided.
Temp.Range: 5°C above ambient to 250°C.
Heating process Controls: The unit is controlled by a Auto tuned Micro-processor based ON/Off PID; Single set point temperature controller cum indicator with built in digital timer ( As option ) and PT-100 sensor. An Audio-Visual Alarm to indicate the End of cycle is included in the system( If TIMER is provided with UNIT ). A 15A, 4Pole heavy duty Contactor/SSR output is also provided.

a. A Motorized Forced Air Circulation by blower motor arrangement on back wall of oven for uniformity oftemp of the inside chamber.

GMP-GC-15: Laboratory Hot-Plate Rectangular:
Construction: The heating plates are rectangular in shape and made up of MS Cast Iron plates with Groves for Heating Coil (SS Plate can also be provided on request) .The top plates overhang by supporting MS pillar which allows air insulation between plate and control Compartment to keep it cool. Long lasting Nicrome Heating wire with ceramic Beads are used for the heating process. A choice of Energy Regulator / Digital Temperature controller/Thermostat is provided.

Max Temp: 350°C.

Muffle Furnace of up to 1200°C:
Laboratory muffle Furnace of Max temp: 1200°C. Working temp: 1150 ºC.
Construction: The unit has an outer body made up of MS with epoxy powder coat finish & a door with a heat resistant handle. The unit has a double walled type construction with the muffles body at centre of the furnace & the control box at top with 1"solid spacer in between. A coil type Heater of Kanthal/Nichrothal wire wound on the muffle with cerewool blanket serves as the heating element. A brick insulation+ ceramicwool +high density mineral wool insulation of 4" is also given to have skin temp.of furnace less than 50°C. The door is provided with heavy-duty hinges and latch-catch lock system to open/close the furnace. Control panel: It is located at the top of furnace and includes a Auto tuned PID Microprocessor based temperature controller cum indicator with Cr/Al Thermocouples controls heating process.Power:230V or 440V, 50 Hz as per requirements. Control will be SSR output type. Safety Fuse with MCB for power is also provided.
